Tom Petty Cover Band The Insiders Close Out This Year’s 2019 HarborFest

Harbor Fest 2019 The Insiders

Marquette, MI  –  08/24/2019  –  Wow another successful HarborFest in the books! The 36th annual HarborFest gave us nothing but beautiful weather and great entertainment. The music, food, and activities were just what Marquette needed to say goodbye to summer the right way. The crowds were bigger than ever and the entertainment was above and beyond everyone’s expectations.

Early this afternoon, Strung Together got the entertainment rolling with their bluegrass/folk music. The Pit Crew followed with their acoustic covers of all of our favorite songs. Tuesday Jones swept in at 4:30 with their rock songs that really got the crowd on their feet. Iron Daisy played us some of the most popular songs from all eras. Tonight’s headliner is making their HarborFest debut. The Insiders, a Tom Petty cover band from Grand Rapids, is taking over the stage tonight to close out HarborFest. Crowds are looking forward to being front row to some of the late rock and roll legend’s greatest hits.

HarborFest’s activities were nothing short of energetic today at Mattson’s Lower Harbor. Double Trouble’s kid’s inflatables were hopping all day today! They were packed with children having the best time. A Classic Car and Motorcycle Show kicked things off this morning at 10am. Classic cars lined the grass of Mattson’s Lower Harbor Park featuring vehicles from every era! Spectators admired the great condition and beauty of each vehicle as they walked down the aisles. The U.P. Luge Club was down at Lower Harbor offering luge slide demonstrations, and The Wooden Canoe Heritage Association brought in some great canoes, some as old as 92 years!

Another attention grabber was the amazing food that HarborFest offers every year. This year was no different, with seven food trucks and vendors to choose from, there was something for everyone! Outlanders, Rollin’ Smoke BBQ, Smelted Wood Fired Pizzas, Senor’s Food Truck, DaH Pretzel Guys, Superior Mobile Koney, and GigsSnax made sure no one went hungry this year at HarborFest.

From the perfect weather, to the amazing food, music, and activities, HarborFest really proved itself to be one of the best 2-day festivals in the Upper Peninsula!
